DMCA and Copyright Policy

Version 2026-10-draft-1 · Draft, not yet in effect

Message Universe LLC respects intellectual property rights and responds to notices of alleged copyright infringement under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. 512). This policy is part of our Terms of Service.

Not a copyright issue? If a video shows you without consent, includes intimate imagery, involves a minor, or harasses someone, use our report form instead; those requests follow a faster 48-hour process.

Designated agent

Copyright Agent, Message Universe LLC
[Street address to be added on registration]
South Bend, Indiana 46614, United States
Email: [email protected]
US Copyright Office registration number: [pending]

Filing a notice

Send a written notice to our designated agent that includes:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature.
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work you claim is infringed.
  3. Identification of the material you claim is infringing, with enough information for us to find it, such as the share link or video URL.
  4. Your contact information: name, address, telephone number and email address.
  5. A statement that you have a good-faith belief that use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.
  6. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner's behalf.

You can also start a copyright report through our report form by choosing "Copyright" as the reason; include the elements above in the details.

What we do

When we receive a valid notice, we remove or disable access to the material, notify the user who uploaded it and provide them a copy of the notice. Knowingly misrepresenting that material is infringing may make you liable for damages under 17 U.S.C. 512(f).

Counter-notice

If you believe material you uploaded was removed by mistake or misidentification, send our designated agent a counter-notice that includes:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature.
  2. Identification of the material removed and where it appeared before removal.
  3. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
  4. Your name, address and telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your address (or, if outside the United States, any judicial district in which Message Universe LLC may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the person who filed the original notice.

We may restore the material in 10 to 14 business days after receiving a valid counter-notice unless the complaining party tells us it has filed a court action.

Repeat infringers

We terminate, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts of users who repeatedly infringe copyrights.
